Confucius Institutes, centers, and classrooms are educational and research centers established by the Office of Chinese Language Promotion (under the Government of China) to promote the Chinese language abroad. They operate in universities in many countries around the world.
At the Center for Chinese Language and Culture at RAU, classes are taught by Chinese and Armenian specialists who have received special training in China. Experience has shown that at the initial stage of learning, local specialists typically achieve the best results in groups, while native speakers are integrated at later stages. Classes are conducted using three main Chinese language textbooks: "New Practical Chinese Reader" (with English and Russian as intermediaries), "Happy Chinese" (in Russian), and "Learning Chinese" (textbooks and exercise collections in Armenian), along with other supplementary interactive materials selected by the instructors.
The carefully designed program from Peking University helps eliminate uncertainty and fear of the Chinese language right from the first lesson, as it incorporates a system that makes memorizing characters easier. Thanks to the Chinese teaching methodology, the specialists effectively teach both schoolchildren and older students. Each week features film screenings, calligraphy, breathing Qigong exercises, and new educational games to diversify lessons for younger groups.
Younger students are especially receptive and quick to grasp Chinese. Classes at the Center for Chinese Language and Culture at RAU take place twice a week, with each lesson lasting an hour and a half. Preparatory sessions for the HSK and HSKK exams are also conducted.
Enrollment is based on a contract signed between RAU Rector Edward Sandoyan and the student (or parent in the case of minors), with monthly payments starting from 15,000 drams to the bank account number provided.
We welcome all interested individuals to join groups that match their knowledge level.
Testing is offered free of charge, and certificates are issued.
